Togo

Togo renames cryptic OP-Atom MXF filenames to their Package Names — safely, without breaking in Avid.

Recording devices like EVS and mRES write OP-Atom MXF files, but the Avid Toolkit forces them into confusing names: a handful of characters, a track letter, and a mysterious UUID. The filename you actually wanted is still there — buried in the MXF metadata. Togo digs it out and puts it back where it belongs. Perfect for archiving and safe that the files can be reverted and relinked in Avid.

Togo is in active development. Want to hear when it launches? Get in touch via the contact page and we’ll keep you posted.

Batch Renaming That Does the Work

Drop your OP-Atom MXF files on Togo and it handles the whole set together. Video and audio tracks are grouped by their shared Package UID and processed as one unit, so every file in the group gets renamed consistently and nothing is ever left behind or mismatched.

Your Real Filenames, Restored

Togo reads the Package Name stored inside each MXF and renames the file to match, appending the track identifier so nothing ever overwrites anything else: WITB_C01_1029_14h42m00s00-01_V01.mxf instead of WITB_C01V01A3F9...mxf. Prefer your own convention? Build a naming pattern from variables like date, timecode, camera, resolution and track — with truncation options to trim the original name down to just what you need.

Revert Anytime with the Togo Backup

Every rename is recorded in a Togo backup file, so nothing is ever one-way. If you need the original filenames back — for a handover, a re-link, or just peace of mind — Togo can restore them exactly as they were, group by group.

Safe for Avid Relinking

Renaming media is only useful if Avid can still find it. Togo works purely at the filesystem level: it changes the filename and nothing else. Every byte of internal MXF metadata stays intact, so the relationships between Full Resolution and Proxy media — and the Package UID links between video and audio tracks — survive completely untouched. Fully safe, relinkable and revertable.

Copy or Move, Your Choice

Run Togo in copy mode to keep your originals exactly where they are, or move mode to tidy up as it goes. Optional checksum verification confirms every copied file landed intact, and configurable conflict handling decides what happens when a name already exists.
